• Saved Stories: Stories you choose to save to your personal collection, including story content, titles, and creation dates.
• Community Interactions: When you share stories publicly or like other users' stories, we store these interactions.

Story Generation Data:

• Story inputs: Character names, animals, settings, and custom prompts you provide for story generation.
• Language preferences: Your selected language for story generation.
• Story content: Generated stories and their associated metadata.

Quiz and Activity Data:

• Quiz interactions: The quiz categories you select (e.g., "animals", "numbers") but not individual answers or performance data.
• Adventure choices: Your selections in interactive adventure stories.

Usage Analytics:

• Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data including page views, session duration, and browser information. IP addresses are anonymized.
• Application logs: Basic usage patterns to improve app performance and user experience.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect children's personal information directly from children under 13.
• We do not store voice recordings - speech recognition is processed locally in your browser.
• We do not collect precise geolocation data.
• We do not store individual quiz answers or performance scores.
• We do not access your Google account beyond the basic profile information you consent to share.

How We Use Your Information

• Account Management: To create and maintain your user account and provide personalized features.
• Story Management: To save, organize, and display your personal story collection.
• Community Features: To enable story sharing and engagement features like likes and public story browsing.
• Service Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve our content generation and user experience.
• Communication: To respond to your support requests or account-related communications.

Data Storage and Security

• Database: User accounts and saved stories are stored securely in Supabase with encryption and access controls.
• Sessions: Login sessions are managed securely and expire automatically.
• Audio Files: Story audio is temporarily generated and stored for playback, then automatically cleaned up.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or marketing companies.

Public Content and Community Features

• Stories you choose to share publicly in the Community section are visible to all users.
• Likes and engagement on public stories are visible to other users.
• You can control which of your stories are made public through your account settings.
• You can remove stories from public sharing at any time.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

AviStories is designed for families and children but requires adult supervision for account creation:

• Only users 13+ can create accounts directly using Google authentication.
• Parents/guardians should supervise children's use of the service.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
• If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights and Choices

• Account Access: View and manage your saved stories through your account dashboard.
• Data Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Story Management: Delete individual stories or remove them from public sharing at any time.
• Account Deactivation: Disconnect your Google account authorization to stop data collection.
• Download Data: Request a copy of your stored data by contacting us.

Data Retention

• Account information is retained until you delete your account or request data deletion.
• Saved stories are retained indefinitely unless you delete them or close your account.
• Temporary audio files are automatically deleted after a short period.
• Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention periods.

International Users

Our services are primarily intended for users in regions where English and supported languages are commonly used. Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
